Each spring monster Brown Trout cruise the shore line of Lake Ontario in Mexico Bay looking for an easy meal. These tips will help you catch them.

We start with light flourocarbon leaders in 6-8 pound test. Using light action rods and quality reels with the best drag. Then we start very early in the morning , being set up at first light is key and staying away from boat traffic is very important. Using Planer Boards we stretch our stick baits back as far as 350'. We primarly use A.C Shiners,Smithwicks, Rapalas.

Color is key and noisey lures are not the thing to use in clear water. Use natural colored baits in clear water, but an orange A.C.shiner in gin clear water is our secert weapon.
