The bass fishing has been on fire on Lake Lure this week for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. We are catching them by throwing shad raps and jerk bait along the creek channels. They aggressively feed this time of year on the abundant bait. Drift the shallower bays in 8 - 20 foot water. Look for surface action and target those spots. Better yet, book a trip aboard Lake Lure Fishing Excursions LLC today.

Yellow perch are starting back in the shallower bays. They are taking live minnows and worms

For May, look for the yellow perch and bluegill action to heat up with worms under small corks in 6 - 10 foot water. White bass will start blitzing the baitfish and readily be caught on small white jerk baits.
