Although there are a lot of choices of fish to target in Beach Haven, the action has not been as consistent as everyone would like.

The captains of the Beach Haven Charter Fishing Association are still working to find their groove. "Sparetime Charters" with Captain George Finck was out fishing a few days ago with the Tim Nickles group. The action was fast and furious on the wrecks as the anglers had drop and reel action on black sea bass. There were throwbacks in the mix but they managed to take a goodly amount of fillets home for dinner. They also caught and released a nice blackfish which unfortunately was out of season.

Captain Fran Verdi on the "Francesca Marie" has had a couple of trips for sea bass with pretty much the same results as Captain Finck. Captain Fran is spending his time fishing on the wrecks and reefs and drifting for fluke. Right now the striper bite is slow in the area.
