Captains Log 12/15/2009 - this was a gorgeous day and our father son team were eager to fish. Heading out to the near shore ledges proved fun and productive; nothing like catching red grouper, grunts, and lane snapper on light tackle. As we tired of the smaller red grouper went slightly farther out to catch keepers. Wow what a great move within the hour we had a 24 inch plus red grouper in the box and then a 24 inch plus lane snapper - the biggest I have seen this year! Father and son were delighted and it proves that near shore fishing is productive
