Bio: Jay has owned and operated Clayoquot Ventures Guide Service in Tofino B.C since 1996. Using over 20 years of experience on West Coast waters, Jay has outfitted thousands of clients from around the world, in and around the pristine waters of Clayoquot Sound. Although he usually reserves the trophy catches for clients, Jay holds the local record for the largest Halibut with a barn door slab that tipped the scales at 170 lbs. Jay represents the Clayoquot Region of Vancouver Island as a director for the Sport Fishing Institute of BC as well as the Federal Government's Sport Fish Advisory Board, and is the current Chairperson of Tofino's Harbour Authority. Jay credits his wife and partner Lorrie, along with their elite Guide team to keep things running smooth and professional on all fronts. During his "down time" Jay enjoys spending time with his family, watching and coaching his son\'s Hockey, and travelling, especially his annual hunting trip with his son, Ben. Jay also enjoys writing about, and photographing some of the great fishing adventures available in the region and exploring new pristine areas to share with his guests.
