Chase N' Tails Fishing Charters

Now we are in February we got a few closers here in the Nature Coast the grouper are closed until April 1 and the trout are also closed until March 1 that dosent mean you cant catch them its just catch and release for now.The redfish are still back in the creeks and around springs look for warmer water and mullet schools for the redfish the reds are ranging from 16-30+inches. I would use live jumbo shrimp right now that is your best bet. Sheepshead are abundant right now and can be caught easily you can find the sheeps around seawalls, rocks, oyster bars, and deep holes live shrimp and a 1/0 J hook works great some times thay can be picky so cutting the shrimp into pices can inprove your catch. Trout are in the same areas as the redfish shallow water 10 inches to around 2 feet and thay are also right in the mix with mullet too. Shrimp is the best bait and for lures i would use in clear water a white Berkly Gulp Jerkbait and in a little dirty water i like a Rootbear Gulp or a New Penny Gulp with a

weedless Gomakatsu hook you can find this tackle at PRECISION TACKLE IN SPRING HILL FLORIDA IN THE WELL CARE PLAZA right across from Flammer Ford. Back in these creeks and bayous ther are also jacks and ladyfish that are a great topwater catch.
