Pictured are Walt and Casey with a prime example of true Deep Sea fishing here in Ft. Lauderdale. That nice Tilefish they are holding came off the bottom in over 700 feet of water with a few more of his deep water buddies ( limit is one per person) to hit the ice during this Bachelor Party charter. We have had some nice weather here, pleasant sea conditions, and low current conditions have allowed us to successfully target the Golden Tiles almost right out front of the inlet.

We continue to chip away at the Kings at the edge of the reef. Most fish are coming on the deep trolling lines but there is an occasional larger fish on live bait. We are seeing the larger ones busting Flying Fish and recklessly "Skyrocketing" into the air giving clue to their location. Fun to see and it never gets old to see these fish blasting into the air.

Mahi-Mahi just outside the edge and some Blackfin Tuna also in the same general area. The tunas are mostly "footballs" (their size) but there are larger ones. The Mahi have been larger than typical schoolies and just of gaffing size. No big numbers for us but we are seeing then fairly regularly now.

Sails continue to be few here with only an occasional fish. We do have a frontal system moving in and this may improve somewhat but we really don't expect much there. It would be nice to be surprised but we feel there will be only slightly more fish, and for a short time.

Chris and Brian tried the Swordfish twice this week on day trips but didn't score. A couple of bites, one biting persistently several times, unfortunately with no resulting hook up. They are a great fish and an even better catch but they can be tough and elusive as these two trips showed. Next time.... that's what keeps us all coming back for more.
