Blake Nelson

The past few weeks have been consistently good for trout in the bay. The rivers are flooded with them and is definitely the A spot this time of year but there are plenty of spots all through the bay where you can find them bunched up as well. The flats are holding the largest trout. They are more spooky and require a little more skill to catch but the bigger ones that we have caught have been in the 23"-25" range. Just off the flats in deeper water, especially muddy bottom creek mouths, have held strong numbers of trout int he 12"-19" range. Most have been caught on live shrimp eithre carolina rigged or on a popping cork but we have caught plenty on gulp baits too.
