We arrived on the Halibut hole by 08:30 and set the hook in 195ft of water. This is a ledge I like to fish because it is the second of three plateaus and what I feel is a resting and feeding ground for large and agressive Halibut. My bait bucket was a mixture of salmon parts, fresh herring and a few Rock Cod fillets. This was all mixed up with some Butt Juice and allowed to soak overnight. I love the juice.
It took one hour for the first bite. We had been changing up the hooks every 15 minutes with fresh bait to keep the scent trail fresh. The tide was ripping out so we needed two pounds of lead to stay on the bottom. Bob nailed a great 35 pounder and almost immediatly Robert and JD hooked into their own flatties. It took us 2 more hours to land 7 all together. As the tide slowed and the scent trail became less effective I plopped out a 32oz Norse Jigg and hooked a couple of smaller Halibut.
Time to go Linging. We only had a couple of hours left so I went to the closest rock and set the boys up with heavey jiggs. Three passes on first rock produced 6 beautiful bucket mouths. Man I love my job.

Bio: 21 years guiding experience on the west coast. We specialize in catching large and agressive Salmon and Halibut. Welcome to the Deep Spring Charters home page. My company specializes in catching large and aggressive Salmon and Halibut. These are not our only targets though. I love seeking out Lingcod, Snapper and Rockfish where they live. These fish are not safe when I am on the water. It is not uncommon to have all my fish coolers filled to the top by the end of the day. I call this food gathering.
