Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak

Adam Hanes and associates from The Green Panel Corporation chartered the Happy Day Today along with the topshotfishing team to do some deep sea sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL. With anglers on board the boat, we had sunny skies, winds out of the east at 12 mph – a great day to go fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL.

Fifteen minutes after leaving dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. We had two plainers down, a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon on one and a pink and blue double hooked Bonito strip on the other. For surface baits we had two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips. As business was being discussed, they got interrupted by their first fish which was a 12 lb Fish. From there, we headed out to one of the artificial wrecks that sits in 240 ft. of water catching Bonitos and Black Fin Tunas along the way. As I headed towards another wreck, one of our plainer rods zipped line off and the rod tip bounced up and down – "90% sure you have a Wahoo on that line," I remarked. Wahoos are the fastest fish in the Ocean clocked at 64 mph with vertical blue and silver neon stripes on their bodies and razor sharp teeth. Jackson, our mate, leaned over the side to gaff the Wahoo and added this catch to the collection we already had.

With the Wahoo being planned for dinner tonight and time running out, it was time to head back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
