Got out Wednesday (02/13/13) to Flamingo with local angler Thomas to try and catch a few fish before the South West winds were predicted to start blowing. The day started out good, it was a little breezy but it was not blowing out of the West yet so we decided to make the run to the coast before it was to late. The first spot produced a handful of Trout up to 20inches and a nice 8lb Triple Tail that Thomas managed to wrestle away from the branch he was sitting on. We got to our second spot just as the tide was slowing down and it did not produce much but short snappers, jacks, and catfish. Unfortunately as the tide started to pick up so did the winds, and it wasn't long before the dreaded South West winds were upon us. The next stop was not bad considering the winds, we caught a handful of little Snook and two that were just under the slot size. We also had a shot at some nice size Sheapshead that we saw swimming around, unfortunately we could not get them to eat. We also caught some more Sea Trout and a couple Black Drum before we decided to make the run back to Whitewater. Once the winds started blowing out of the South West it pretty much ruined fishing for the rest of the day. We spent some time bouncing around in Whitewater before calling it a day but did not catch much but jacks and ladyfish. The day started out good and ended kind of slow due to the winds picking up. But as they say any day on the water is a good day on the water.
