Had the day off today so I went to check out some new areas and had a ball. I caught 40 or so and had 8 fish that were between 4 and 5 lbs. I caught fish on traps, 1/2 LiL' Hustler jigs, spooks, crankbaits and swimbaits. All fish came from 4 to 8 feet of water. Today was the best day I have had in a week as far as catching several quality fish. I found some good areas today that I never seen a boat fish. Best areas today were shell beds surrounded by milfoil. If they weren't on the shell than they were on the outside grass lines.

I also went shallow just looking around and seen several good fish that were spawning. I believe that the rest of the fish that haven't spawned yet just came up with this full moon. I seen several rolling up on there sides. They normally do this when dropping eggs. Also seen several fish guarding fry and I also seen several brim that had come up also which I haven't been seeing. The water warmed to around 72 today. The shad are trying to come up. I marked big balls of them on the structure scan as I was driving around looking. I found more bait today than I have seen all year.

I hope all this rain coming doesn't muddy the water up to bad. The pros should hit it just about right if the water doesn't turn to mud.

Good luck
