Galveston Bay Fishing Report

Galveston, Texas - Saltwater Fishing Report
Galveston Channel

First of all I would like to let everyone know that we are back on the water fishing on a regular basis now! My brother and I have been working with the debris cleanup on Galveston Bay since March and we are officially finished. It was an interesting 3-4 months to say the least. We have been fishing the past couple of weeks and it started off with a bang, limits to near limits most trips. When the winds have been less than 13 mph we have really boxed some quality trout. The numbers are there too, typical summertime fishing for us! We are using live croaker drifting over mid bay shell in East Bay or driting the channel spoil banks. The sandtrout and gulftrout are in abundance this year. We have been adding some (15in.-20in.) sandtrout to our box on most trips. Sharks (2-3ft. range) are all over the bay system. We are averaging 10-15 bites from them daily. We don't catch many cause they cut our leaders with ease. Over all fishing is excellent when winds are decent and our bays are a lot more safer and cleaner now. Until next time, see you on the water.
