Fishing is on FIRE here along the Nature Coast. There are lots of Huge Redfish being caught every day, Trout are all over the grass flats, Snook are starting to feed now, also the Spanish Mackerel are abundant.

Redfish is the targeted species past few weeks for me. I have been having great success with shore lines on a high out-going tide. I start off my clients with a top water plug, my favorite lure is a Rapala Skitter Walk, work the lure at a slow pace and if there is a Red nearby, be ready for some great top water action. Redfish hit lures with a lot of force, sometimes shooting the lure 2 feet out of the water. Pretty cool stuff. For the live bait anglers there are Greenbacks in the area now an easy way to get these great baits is to throw the cast net, but before that stop into Precision Tackle and See Dave. He has some great chum for Baitfish. All you need to do is add a little water and make it like a paste, then throw a small amount out at a time and get the net ready. What I like to do with Greenbacks is with a pair of cutters cut the tail of what that does is it puts sent in the water and keeps it in the strike zone .

Trout are in 2-6 feet of water I like sand pockets mixed with grass. Any moving tide will work for catching Trout a top water lure in the morning will put fish in the box and around mid day a Berkley Gulp shrimp with a ¼ oz jig head works great or a live Greenback or Pinfish under a cork will get some big ones.

Tarpon will start to show up in May and they will stick around through the summer. Also Cobia should be here any day now, look around channel markers, crab traps, tri pods, rocks and reefs, and grass flats. Cobia usually will hit anything you present to them just make sure you got a good rod with a lot of power pro.

Fishing is great now, is the time to get out on the water your book yourself a charter with me and I will show you where and how to get the big ones .
