Gus' Place Resort on Ball Club Lake just 10 minutes from Winnie dam has got to be one of your ice fishing destinations this winter.

Now is the time to look over your ice fishing gear, replace tired batteries in your sonar, change out fishing line, get out your ice auger and start it up to make sure it is running properly. Treat yourself to those new boots you have been wanting. Don't wait to do these projects until the day you want to go fishing.

We expect first ice here at Gus' Place around the end of December. Pike spearing is very popular here when the ice is fresh and not yet to thick. Perch will be schooled in this past summers weeds @ around 8 to 15 feet during this early period. Walleye are usually deeper.

As the winter months move into the new year changing conditions will effect the location and depth of the fish.

I always share the latest trends and GPS with my customers.
