[Kentucky Lake,KY] BASS RULE on Kentucky Lake in June!! 100 bass days are pretty normal this time of year. It doesn't seem to matter what species you're targeting, you will catch Largemouth Bass.
Fall fishing at its best by Kirk Weber (10/31/2009)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] When I look back on my sixteen years as a guide, I see this year's Crappie catch as above average in both size and quality.
They're all biting! by Kirk Weber (8/27/2009)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] The biggest problem I find with September fishing is deciding which species of fish to target. They're all biting!
Which is the COOLEST? by Kirk Weber (6/25/2009)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] I unhooked and released the fish and cast again. BAM! Another, BAM! Another, BAM! Another. After 7 or 8 fish in quick succession I thought to myself, Man this is COOL!

[Kentucky Lake,KY] The bass action has been outstanding AND the Bluegill action has been phenomenal this month.
Crappie Fishing Kentucky Lake by Kirk Weber (4/05/2009)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] The Crappie are well into their spawn. Now is a great time for anglers new to the lake to come fish for Bass. Some amazing numbers of Bluegill are in deep water on stumps and in Crappie brush 10 to 18 deep.

[Kentucky Lake,KY] We've had good success catching Largemouth Bass, a few Smallmouths, Crappie, Bluegill, White and Yellow Bass, and Catfish.

Crappie Time by Kirk Weber (10/05/2007)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] In the past week clients in my boat have checked in a 10oz Bluegill, a 13 ½ Lb Flathead Catfish, a 1 Lb 12 oz Crappie, and a 4 Lb 11 oz Smallmouth. If you're not out there catching ‘em, you're missing out!
Crappie are starting to bite again! by Kirk Weber (9/04/2007)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] I've Crappie fished a couple times this past week and caught some real nice sized fish. The bite is mostly slow, but good in short bursts.
Trophy Stripers On Lake Cumberland by Jim Durham (5/24/2007)
[Lake Cumberland,KY] In some years, the bite during the spawn of the Stripers can be really slow. I do not know what then “phenomenon” is this year, but we have been catching absolutely “huge” trophy Stripers in the spawn of 2007. Perhaps it is the fact that with the work on the dam and the water level still near Winter pool all the way into May, the “bite” is hotter this year during the spawn than normal.
Crappie Spawn Has Begun by Kirk Weber (3/25/2007)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] I've fished every day for the past two weeks and overall the catching has been good. We've had many 100+ fish days catching Crappie, Yellow Bass, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Striped Bass, Bluegill, and Red Ear.
Warming Trend by Kirk Weber (3/11/2007)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] The biggest change I've seen is that each day more fish are coming shallow. This should hold up so long as our warm trend continues.

[Lake Cumberland,KY] THE LAKE CUMBERLAND STRIPER FISHING REPORT By Captain Jim Durham – StriperFun Guide Service
February Fishing North Kentucky Lake by Kirk Weber (2/23/2007)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] Some fish are rising for the warmer water near surface and if our warm trend continues, I look for the catching to get better. For now I'd fish either deep (20+ ft) or shallow (5 ft or less). For Bass that means suspending jerk baits shallow and a jig, deep.
Cold Water Crappie by Kirk Weber (1/31/2007)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] The air was a bit nippy, but I found the fish fairly agreeable. The most good-sized fish I graphed were in 26ft of water.
The Lake Cumberland Striper Fishing Report by Jim Durham (1/30/2007)
[Lake Cumberland,KY] From my 40 plus years coming to the lake, it has been my experience that this winter level (690) remains constant (many years) for 90 or so days between late November through mid February. So, we are already accustomed to this lower water level for about a ¼ of the year as it is!
Lake Cumberland Striper Fishing by Jim Durham (12/17/2006)
[Lake Cumberland,KY] Things have began to slow down around the marinas, with most (non-fishing boats) winterized. This time of year gets quite. The pleasure boaters are done for the year and it's just the Bass fishermen and us “Monster” Striper hunters that are left.
November Lake Cumberland Fishing Report by Jim Durham (11/30/2006)
[Lake Cumberland,KY] We continue to catch really nice Smallmouth while Striper fishing live bait. If you want to “concentrate” on the smallmouth, then the bottom fishing with live bait is the hot ticket for the next 3 to 4 months.
Lake Cumberland Striper Fishing Report by Jim Durham (11/27/2006)
[Lake Cumberland,KY] Well, it was Thanksgiving weekend again and the weather was great. The temperature was between 65 to 70 degrees during the day and it was sunny. This kind of weather normally “scatters” the fish and that was certainly the case. We hunted and hunted (and hunted!!!!) the first day for an active school, but just didn't have any luck. As I always tell you, if my report said we caught a limit every time you would know it was a lie.
Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley Bass Fishing by Dave Stewart (11/23/2006)
[Barkely Lake,KY] Both lakes are 1.5 ft over winter pool. Both lakes went up late last week to 2.5 ft over winter pool because of heavy rains. The lakes are being drawn back down now to winter pool. The bass fishing was pretty good earlier in the week but slowed down over the past two days with flat water, high pressure and blue skies.
Elkhorn Creek White Bass Fishing by Jeff Miller (9/04/2006)
[Elkhorn Creek,KY] This is the 7th report in a series about Elkhorn Creek, located in Frankfort KY. If you are not familiar with the Elkhorn it is probably time to make yourself familiar. Rated as one of the top smallmouth streams in the southeast this body of water is sure meet the needs of any angler from 9 to 90.
White Bass Fishing On Kentucky Lake by Dan Dolack (7/26/2006)
[Kentucky Lake,KY] White Bass fishing has been very good. I have seen a few jumps but not for any extended periods. Try Roostertails or Mepps in line spinners, in white, chrome and chartreuse colors. Trolling with a crankbait downrigger has also produced good results.
