Smith Lake

December 9th, 2013

It's been all about the wind lately, if its not blowing the topwater action is on. But if the wind is blowing hard, it's a no go. While there's still fish to be caught even when there's no topwater. I live for the topwater bite this time of year. We've had a cold start to winter for Alabama, things are cooling quick. We have around two week or so if it stays cold. If we get some warmer weather it will extend it a while. We've been catching most of our fish on topwater plugs or Red Fins. Also we've been using several different techniques with live bait to catch them. There's been some good groups of birds around lately. So keep your eyes open and look for the rolls.

There's only two weeks left to take advantage of the Christmas Gift Certificate Special. It's a get gift for family, friend, or employees. Gift certificates are good for one year from date of purchase.

Also on December 14th, 2013 will be holding another striped bass tournament out of Speegle's Marina and Campground. Will be launching right before sunrise at 6:30 a.m.
