Smith Lake

February 8th, 2012

After spending yesterday back on Smith lake, I am pretty beat. I've been getting up at three in the morning for over a week and mentally hit a wall yesterday. While out on the water, I ran into a couple guys that had fish with me a couple months ago. My brain was like swiss cheese, it took a minute for my brain to recall them. I felt like a mental patient on thorazine. Sorry Mike for being so slow, I remember you. You caught your biggest fish last. The blue boat and the distance through me off, plus I was beat by the time I saw you.

As for the fishing, the striped bass bite was better then in days past. I found fish in several places, I fished in Coon Creek, Pigeon Roost, and the main channel close to Misty Harbor. They still a little scattered, but their getting tighter. With several sunny days in the forecast, things should only get better. We also did some bass fishing, while it was slower then a couple days ago and the bite was a little deeper. We still caught plenty of fish in 6-15 feet of water. Also picked up a nice spot on a Jr. Lunker Punker in bone color. Its a big top water bait and this spot ate it up. The water is settling down and they have pulled around 4 feet of water out of the lake over the past week or so. That's changed we're the fish are positioning. I am looking forward to the next couple days on the water.

So if your interested in fishing Smith Lake give me a call
