Fishing in the Nature coast is great the days are getting shorter and the water temperature is dropping right now the water temp is 83 degrees and once it drops into the mid 70s fishing is just gonna be even better.Right now the reds are scattered from Aripeka to Bayport there are some huge schools around i am talking 30-60 reds and thay are monsters most of them are over the slot 28-36".A good key to find the reds is find the mullet you find the mullet the reds will be around them.I had a trip on Thursday and we limited out on trout in 1-2 feet of water in just 1 hour the trout we got were all on topwaters lures Rapala skitter walks. It was low tide and once it got high enough were the mullet were by the shore line we went redfishing. We started working a mangrove shore line in Aripeka then

we came upon a large school of mullet we threw a topwater up there and fish on after that we were on that school for 3 hours non stop action the reds were eating large green backs with ther tail cut off and top waters.I like to use a 7 to 7 1/2 medium action rod like a Shimano calcutta or a carrot stick with 10lb test power-pro and a 2-3

feet of 20lb suffix leader and a 3/0 circle hook tide with a loop knot. The snook are starting to move farther back into the creeks look around Bayport and chassahowitzka i would use a sebile twich bait or a D.O.A swimming mullet most snook are 20-40" use heavy gear and a 30-40lb leader i tie all my lures and hooks with a loop knot it gives it more action and lets the bait swim freely. The grouper are starting to move in closer i got some reports that there are in 10-15 feet now and ther are some up to 15lb use dead bait first then swich to live bait i like big green

backs, pinfish,or grunts, you need at least 50lb main line with a 80lb leader and a 5/0-6/0 circle hook. The spanish macks are on the bait schools and ther are some cobia running out ther to i would target some structure in the 10-25 feet rang and either free line a pin fish or have a rod ready with a berkly gulp eel tide to a 1/4 to 3/8oz wide gap jig head.Once this cold front pass the fishing will be better and better the reds and trout will be feeding like crazy and the gags will move in closer and closer.

Tight lines and good fishing.
