Night time fishing along Florida's Space Coast has been good reports Captain Keith Mixon (www.mixinworkwithplay.com). With a combination of clear skies and a bright full moon, several large trout measuring up to twenty inches have been caught along the flats in three feet of water or less. Small top water lures such as MirrOlure's MirrOmullet Surface Walker (color 808) worked slowly near school of bait fish (mullet) has enticed many of these trout to bite. Several of these large trout have been caught along the western shore of the Indian River near Mims north of Titusville.

In addition, black drum have been caught near the "No Motor Zone" in the Banana River around spoil islands and channel drop offs. Clients have been able to sight cast to these fish during the last few hours of day light. Live bait (mullet and shrimp) rigged on circle hooks or artificial lures (scented jerk baits) hooked weedless have worked well for a solid hook up. Eighteen to twenty inches has been the average length of these fish
