Orlando, Florida - Freshwater Fishing Report
St Johns River
Eddie Bussard

The main river fish have turned on with the warm water temps we have had

over the past week.Main River ledges in 6 to 16 ft of water has been the

key depth's the past week.Bill and Sam Baker of SC had a great 6 hr trip

catching 20 fish up to 6 pounds.Kim and Pat Carter of MI also had a great 6 hr

catching 16 fish to 6 pounds. My clients today Aki and Tiwiki of Japan

started the first day of a three day trip with a bang catching 15 fish up to

8 pounds. Most fish this past week have been caught on a Black Blue Jig

fished very slow in about 12 ft of water on main river ledges. The strong winds

have had the current flowing backwards (SOUTH} and this has stopped the

shad from moving and the schooling fish have shut down.It only takes one

good ledge to load up on the good fish this time of the year on the St Johns River.
