Captain David and mate Jake made the most of improved fishing weather today, loading the Lady Pamela IV with a bunch of game fish. They started the morning working the reef in 100 feet of water, producing some nice kingfish. Captain David then caught word over the marine radio of a nice color change offshore Ft. Lauderdale so they pulled in the lines and went looking for the break in water color. The brownish-green coastal water turned to a deep purple out in 900 feet of water, associated with a slight current rip. As soon as the lines were back out a 20 lb wahoo slammed one of the baits. This was no monster wahoo but it put up a pretty darn good fight. Jake had just boated the wahoo when the reels started singing again. This time it was gaffer dolphin in the 10-15 lb range. Our anglers had more than a dozen hookups, putting five nice fish in the box.
