Prince Rupert, British Columbia - Saltwater Fishing Report
Skeena River
Stephen Hardie

Prince Rupert Halibut fishing last week was very productive. After 3 weeks of windy weather we finally had the opportunity to get down to the Skeena River for some dynamite Halibut fishing.

Using the bait and wait method we stuffed the circle hooks with Salmon parts and scented it up with butt juice. At this time of year there is a great stink coming out of the Skeena River caused by the death of millions of Coho Salmon.

These giant Halibut move in and swallow the dead fish hole. If you are fishing in the right spot and the tide is with you large and aggressive Halibut will slam your rods. Check out the pictures below for proof of these great flat fish.

Bio: 21 years guiding experience on the west coast. We specialize in catching large and agressive Salmon and Halibut. Welcome to the Deep Spring Charters home page. My company specializes in catching large and aggressive Salmon and Halibut. These are not our only targets though. I love seeking out Lingcod, Snapper and Rockfish where they live. These fish are not safe when I am on the water. It is not uncommon to have all my fish coolers filled to the top by the end of the day. I call this food gathering.
