There are fish scattered top to bottom on the Salmon and Oswego Rivers. Many of the local creeks even with low flows are loaded with dime bright fish.

We made it through another Columbus Day weekend. With water in all the area streams and the river at a level that makes it difficult to see the fish, it really was not that crowded, considering it was the biggest weekend of the year.

The past week has been up and down for both lake and river anglers. The lake has plenty of fish but they continue to play cat & mouse. They move around a lot and bite great one day and refuse to bite the next.

The water on the salmon river continues to go up. Snow melt on the Tug hill is making it’s way into the river system and I would look for very high water conditions over the next few weeks. Keep praying for cold nights or she will go big real fast.

Wow! What a weekend. Started off with the typical single digit AM temperatures, but once the sun got up in the sky it was gorgeous out there. We didn’t want to quit it was so nice.

Recent heavy rains and snow melt have area rivers and creeks bank full. Although this will make it tough going for a few days, it will set us up for some wonderful conditions as they all drop.

Spent the last few days in a very heavy driftboat. Three people is always tough and then add in a whole bunch of snow, wind and cold and you have a serious chozen frozen fishing excursion.
