We hsve a sizzling summer top water striper bite on the Neuse and Trent Rivers near New Bern. Stripes are busting bait evey morning and crushing top water plugs. The bite has been daily from 6 to 9:30 AM. ideal for a half day of fishing. Look for scools to groups of fish busting shad, menhadden and mullet or blind cast around points, docks and flats to get the bite. The action has been hot the last couple weeks and no signs of slowing down.
