Salmon Fishing
Wow! Salmon fishing continues to amaze us this year as well as the great weather! We are getting some great sizes for this time of year. This is the best early season fishing I have seen in quite a few years. We are getting Chinook(Kings) from 10-30lbs and from our latest picture you can see that many were between 20-30 lbs. Salmon fishing has been good on South Bank, Great Bear and Alley Rock, and many places in Barclay Sound including Effingham and Diplock. Salmon are biting on 4" coyote spoons (chrome, dark green, dark blue), needlefish hutchies, and regular hutchies. We have been trolling mostly near the bottom, but they are up at many different depths. Coho(Silvers) are anywhere from the surface down to 150 ft. Come enjoy fishing that only some people dream of!
Halibut Fishing
Halibut fishing has been consistent—but not quite as fast as it can be. Most of the time we are getting our limits, but they are not biting every minute like can happen when fishing is good. Right now we are catching halibut mostly by trolling glow spoons or hutchies near the bottom.
