Fort Lauderdale Fishing with Topshotfishing and Capt. Zsak

Henry and Sherry Castaneda along with their son, Adam, and his girlfriend, Nicole, all from California chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As the Castaneda's boarded the boat, Adam remarked that he has been waiting for this trip for quite a while as they reserved this charter back in May.

With high hopes and enthusiasm, fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, lines were in 120 ft. of water at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale, 1.8 miles from shore. We started off with two plainers down – one #8 and the other #6 – with sea witches in front of double hooked Bonito strip on each plainer and four surface baits. As all the anglers rotated taking turns, a contest began as to who would catch the biggest fish. It seemed like Sherry was at the head of the pack with a 14 lb. Bonito catch.

After trolling and catching 10 Bonitos and 2 Kingfish, Adam asked if we could do some Shark fishing so from there we set up with two Shark baits – one surface and one midrange – with a Snapper rig on the bottom. The group enjoyed catching numerous types of fish on the bottom. It was now getting close for the fat lady to sing - Dave our mate, did his Shark dance to entice the creature to come up, but no luck.

With Snapper and Kingfish on the menu for tonight, it was time to head back to the dock. The anglers retired into the a/c salon and enjoyed the relaxing trip back to the dock at Bahia Bar located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
