Fishing today with Alex and Peter from Ontario, west of Otter Point, found some great winter Spring Salmon action, with five or six fish on, landing two nice Springs. We were trolling anchovey on the bottom, and had a fish on almost immediately in the morning. Found large herring in the belly of one of the Salmon. Took the fish to Eagle Eye Outfitters in Sooke and weighed them in on the new DST scale. The guys had a good time e-mailing their pictures home from the scale. Weather was sunny with a breeze and slight swell out of the west, very fishable. Halibut fishers continue to report good Hali action on many spots west of Otter Point, given the tide is not moving too fast, and the wind is down.
