After reading the unique chapter about the young Colin Simpson in Joe Bates book, ?Atlantic Salmon Fly Fishing and Flies.?  I was fortunate to meet him in person.  Colin was 19, when he tied these flies for me.  His material box was full of exotic feathers, few, if any, ever seen in my neck of the woods, the Pacific Northwest.

Each fly was tied by hand, without a vice, for me, while visiting my fly shop.  I showed these flies to Syd Glasso, and he examined them in almost disbelief.  He, too, had read the Bates story.  I have had these flies for over 34 years, and it?s time for someone else to admire them, as well as Colin?s expert tying skills.
