This auction is for a new harpoon system designed with the small boat fisherman in mind. The system includes: 1) An adapter made of aircraft grade aluminum, which has been anodized to fight corrosion. This adapter will screw on to any handle with a standard "broomstick" thread. ( The technical name is an Acme thread) Just go to the hardware store and pick a handle, which is suitable to you. The retractable handle shown (not included) works very well and stows easily. 2) A marine grade 316 stainless steel harpoon shaft. The shaft has 2 silicone O-rings installed so the dart fits on with a friction fit. You will not need rubber bands or tape to keep your dart from falling off when you have a big fish near the boat. 3) The stainless steel dart. This dart is machined from solid stainless steel and has a machine sharpened point. A regular halibut dart has a tapered end, which works OK but is kind of weak when trying to penetrate a tough shark skin. This dart is much easier to deliver than the antique style bronze darts commonly in use here on the East Coast. The dart has 1/8" stainless steel wire rope attached to it with swaged ends and a stainless thimble installed. Made in U.S.A.

I've recently been told from some buyers that they are using  these for alligator hunting also.

I can include the retractable 2?-4? handle shown for an additional $25.00. You are probably better off picking your own handle and saving on the additional shipping costs.
