The items include two of my blue rubber jawed clip on downrigger releases and three amber rubber jawed planner board releases along with my rubber band system, this system allows you to place a rubber band release anywhere on the cabel without hurting the braided downrigger cable. These are used for bigger game such as chinook salmon and salt water fish that require a solid hook set in their boney jaws, and have the weight and power to snap a rubber band. Not recommended for smaller fish as they are not able to break the rubber bands. You can attach a 6-12" metal leader to them in order to telegraph the shakers or smaller fish that are unable snap the bands and one of these is included in the package..If you fish different bodies of water as as I do or under varying conditions you need the tackel that will serve the purpose. For example when going to lake Ontario to fish for 20+ pound Kings you don't worry about perch or small stockers being dragged around so the rubber bands are the answer, but if you go to Lake George or Lake Champlain you need a sensitive release that will fire when a small perch or immature slamon strikes. My blue rubber jawed downrigger releases are my primary release on Champlain as they will fire on perch, cisco, or immature salmon, but they also allow you to have a considerable amount of rod loading during set up. The lines are easily attached to the rubber jawed release like a dog holds a bone. Open the jaw and place the line as far in as it can go and release the clip. The rod pulls up on the top jaw and locks in but the fish pulls directly away from the jaws making for relatively light release pressure. To change lures just give the line a bit of slack and a sharp tug will release it from the jaws. The planer board releases also have rubber jaws and they allow you to set up for a light or heavy pressure. The wide jaw allows you to put a loop into the center of the jaw for a light release or to grab the line with the entire jaw for a tougher release. I put this package together to give you options on the water.
