CHASE N' TAILS FISHING CHARTERS - FISHING REPORT-

This is what we need a lot of rain to cool down the water temperature at 92 degrees i hope this rain cools the water at least 5 dregrees would be nice. If this happens the Redfish will fire up for a few days until the water heats back up. Look for reds around the outside points, cuts, coves, oyster bars, and structure. A good thing to keep your eye out for is mullet large schools of mullet around there is a good chance that the redfish are right in the mix of them. Also check out the inside cuts, coves, creeks, and oyster bars for redfish this time of year reds will move around alot back and forth from inside to outside a 1-2 degree difference can make a difference to where they will be at. The reds are on the sluggish side so live bait and FRESH dead bait is the ticket use green backs, pin fish,

mullet chunks, and creek chubs on a 2/0 circle hook and a 20lb leader.

Trout are all over the place you can find some around the redfish and shallow flats in the early morning but if you want constant action and big trout you need to go out far 12-16 feet of water on mix bottom what that is sand, grass, lime stone, rocks, and coral the biggets trout are laying around these area's I like to use a 3/8 oz mission fishin jig head and a 3" Gulp shrimp work the jig slowly across the bottom. In the same area's you can also catch big sea bass, grunts, sharks, spanish mackrel, lady fish, gag grouper, flounder and Big trout.

Snook are around the points, cuts, and coves with good water flow use a white jerk bait rig

weedless or live pin fish and green backs under a corck with a 2/0 circle hook most snook are ranging from 20-30".

Now the scallops are the hottest thing going on right now this has turned out to be the best sacllop season i have ever seen the scallops are every were getting your limit is NO problem 10 gallons of scallops in 1 hour is fantastic just ice them down as soon as possible and make sure you are flying the divers-down flag when people are in the water. Look for scallops North of Bayport to chazz in 4-8 feet of water.

What's the rest of the month is looking like is trout to be offshore in 12-16 feet along with a good mix bag, Redfish can be on the slow side if we dont get are normal rainy afternoons and morning's, Scallops will be on fire through the rest of the season so come book a trip with Capt. Josh and enjoy a great day of fishing and scalloping.
