This report is for the last week or so. Starting with last weekend the fishing was really tough with the water dropping out the way it did. I believe the fish were still there it just had them really spooky with the water falling as fast as it did. We had a lot of short strikes and a lot of fish robbing pincher's from our jig trailers. The fish we caught wanted a really slow presentation and almost no movement to the baits. We caught fish on jigs, traps and small crankbaits in 8 foot or less of water.

Also wanted to congratulate some of my clients who fished in The Anglers Choice Championship. On The first day of the tournament I now that one of the groups that I helped out was sitting in 5th place with right at 25 lbs. I don't know how they ended up after the second day. Yesterday I talked with another group who called to say thanks and to let me know that they finished in 11th place overall. They had around 21 lbs the first day and had just over 22lbs the second day and I believe they had around 44 lbs total for the 2 days. I haven't talked to the other couple of clients to see how they ended up and haven't been to the website to look at final results. I do know that there was around 200 boats in the field so if 2 out of the 4 clients finished in the top 10 I am very pleased. I know that the jig played a major roll in both of their finishes and once again I never fished the same areas with any of those clients and will never put several clients on the same fish for those of you who wonder about that.

The last few days with all this warm weather it has really started to warm the water back up and with the full moon coming up ( the 19th I believe) the first wave of fish will hit the beds. I have talked with several buddies and we all agree that they are coming up fast the last few days. In the morning you may hit an area and not much will happen and then you go back later in the day and you may catch 10 to 15 fish off that spot. Plastics are going to play a big roll over the next few weeks.

I had to take a few days off due to some boat problems and the fact that my new boat still hasn't come in yet. It should be here any day now and I can't wait.

I have days open if anyone wants to go. The big ones are back to biting and the fish are acting a lot better and the number should really improve over the next week or two. The Big Bass Splash should be a big hit to those who are fishing it. I don't believe that they could have timed it any better this year.

I will put some some good pictures up in my next report. I am on strange computer right now and can't seem to get my pictures to load.

Good Luck and keep it safe.

Let the big ones go after a quick picture, It's that time of year. Won't be long and the eggs will be gone.
