Welcome anglers!
April is probably one of my favorite times to be fishing for Steelhead and Trout on our local rivers. Typically we get nice weather, not hot but decent, lower numbers of anglers and plenty of fish that love our flies or lures. I have been Steelhead fishing for the last few weeks almost non stop and its been great! Throw in a couple of days of fly fishing for large Bull trout and life is good. Steelhead are averaging 10 lbs but there are some big boys up to 20lbs.
We have 3 main rivers we fish for Steelhead on and 2 of them are also good for Bull trout to 10 lbs.
The Squamish river valley is only 1.25 hrs north of Vancouver by car but it's like being 5 hrs away due to its rugged undeveloped landscape. Plenty of wildlife around such as Bears, Deer, Elk, Eagles and more.
