River Ribble Carp Crusader The Fishwick Bottoms at Preston has much to offer to the,"budding angler!"I took this 16ib Carp,a relation to the common carp(Cyprinus Carpio)introduced to the ribble by the monks of Higher Walton. The carp, probably introduced to Europe from Asia by the Romans has been bred, fished for and used as a pond decoration for thousands of years. This particular carp, was my 1st river variety and i took it on a "snow-man rigged" 14mm isotonic Rose Hip/6mm pop-up pineapple boilie combination.I enjoyed the experience with none other than,"Baz the Bapper Barbel catcher",who took 6 Barbel to 10ib and his 1st river carp at a stonking 20ib!The Ribble Way at Preston has so much to offer, wether it be catching fishies, spotting deer, drinking copious amounts of buck fast or just basking in the grandure of the English Coutryside. Malacca - Blockbuster Trailer from Malaysia A preview of "Malacca", the blockbuster movie from Malaysia, about the legendary marriage of a Chinese princess,Hang Li Po, and the king of the Sultanate of Malacca, Sultan Mansor Shah. This is a movie I have in my head. I'm actively looking for volunteer animators or producers. Please send me a message if you are interested. Among the clips used are from Pirates of the Carribean, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Last Samurai. The music is from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, by the Oscar-winning Tan Dun. SOURCE: http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Melaka Malacca was founded by Parameswara, a Srivijayan prince who left Sumatra in 1396 in order to further his enmity with the Majapahit Empire. According to a popular legend, Parameswara was resting under a tree near a river while hunting, when one of his dogs cornered a mouse deer. In self-defence, the mouse deer pushed the dog into the river. Impressed by the courage of the deer, and taking it as a propitious omen of the weak overcoming the powerful, Parameswara decided on the spot to found an empire on the very place that he was sitting. He named it "Melaka" after the tree under which he had taken shelter. Another version of the story says that Parameswara chose the name Malacca from the Tamil word "mallakka" which means upside down or on ones back. Old illustrations of the scene where the mousedeer kicks the dog shows the dog falling on its back into the river, hence the inspiration. Parameswara converted to Islam in 1414 and changed his name to "Raja Iskandar Shah". What started as a fishing village then grew into the most important port in the region, attracting traders from Java, India, Arabia and China, and served as a stopping point for China-India trade during the two monsoon periods. Mass settlement of Chinese, mostly from the imperial and merchant fleet occurred during the reign of Parameswara, occurred in the vicinity of the Bukit China ("Chinese Hill") area, which had among the best Feng Shui (geomancy) in Malacca then. Sultan Iskandar Shah died in 1424, and was succeeded by his son, Sri Maharaja. Unfortunately, the prosperity of Malacca attracted the invasion of the Siamese. Attempts in 1446 and 1456, however, were warded off by Tun Perak, the then Chief Minister. The development of relations between Malacca and China was at that time a strategic decision to ward off further Siamese attacks. Because of its strategic location, Malacca was an important outpost for Zheng He's spectacular exploration fleet. To enhance relations, Hang Li Po, allegedly a princess of the Ming Emperor of China, arrived in Malacca, accompanied by 500 attendants, to marry Sultan Mansur Shah who reigned from 1456 until 1477. Her attendants married the locals and settled mostly in Bukit China (Bukit Cina). A cultural result of the vibrant trade was the expansion of the Peranakan people, who spread to other major settlements in the region. During its heyday Malacca was a powerful Sultanate which extended its rule over the southern Malay Peninsula and much of Sumatra. Its rise help to hold off the Thai's southwards encroachment and arguably hasten the decline of the rival Majapahit Empire of Java. Malacca was also central in the spread of Islam in the Malay Archipelago. WYOMING ICE FISHING---More flags than fish!! Ocean lake fishing in December http://gf.state.wy.us/ Proposed Changes to Fishing Regulation The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is proposing a single change to the fishing regulations for 2008-2009. Section 9(c) regarding documentation for live baitfish was deleted from the 2006-2007 regulations when the regulations were approved for 2008-2009. The first sentence of that section should not have been deleted. This proposed change will add the following sentence back into the regulations: Persons with live baitfish in possession shall produce, upon request from Department personnel, either a receipt from a licensed live baitfish dealer or a seining license verifying origin of the live baitfish. This requirement has been in place for many years. Without this requirement Department personnel are unable to enforce the live baitfish regulations. The baitfish regulations are in place to protect the aquatic resource and that protection is compromised without this documentation requirement. The public comment period on that change is January 2, 2008 through 5:00 p.m. on February 19, 2008. Comments can be made on the web site by (Clicking Here) or by writing: Wyoming Game and Fish Department Attn: Fishing Regulations 5400 Bishop Blvd. Cheyenne, WY 82006 We do not plan to hold a public meeting on this change. A public information gathering meeting will be held if requested by 25 persons, a governmental subdivision or by an association having not less than 25 members. Requests for a public information gathering may be addressed to the above address. The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission will consider this change at their March 13-14, 2008 meeting in Casper, Wyoming. Rancho Bellavista del Lago, Cajon de Peña Tomatlan, Jalisco This is where the Tomatlan River turns into Cajon de Peña lake, and where Arroyo Seco (a large subterranean river) surfaces. This video was taken during the dry season but you can hear the birds singing. From August till April the water level is much higher. This lake is just one hour south of Puerto Vallarta, pristine blue water, lots of wildlife: Deer, Boar, Jaguars, Ducks, Bass and even Flamingos... go see it! Amazing hidden spot away from all the cemented developments of Vallarta. Rent a boat and go fishing year round and feel the energy! www.bellavista-del-lago.com Views: 4358 Rating:
