Snapper fishing in the Hauraki Gulf The Kina Cup was created to honour excellence in snapper and kingfish fishing for the teams we take on contests and tournaments. This trip was a predominately snapper trip where we tested the Kojak Custom Rods on the Gulfs snapper and in less than desirable conditions too I might add. As his luck would have it, Nipper, new to the team DIVERSITY was fishing for he picked up the biggest snapper for the day and took out the prestigeous title. Bali Fishing Report, Ruby Snapper Jigging 6 Feb 2010 Bali fishing wwith some friends, jigging at the depth 115 meters, we got a monsterous dog tooth tuna bite our jigs, on our reel full drags, our 80 pounds tuffline braid spilled almost all out 300 yds, when its only 4-5 turns left at spool, even boat was chasing the line, that doggie has managed to break the leader, right at the top of jig. what a fight !!! the video shows when we jig and get a nice tasty ruby snapper, lookalike a 11 kilos one. great for sashimi ! Today's Fishing Video, Jigging for ruby snapper in Bali - 12 February 2010 2 of 3 After the first strike, we corrected the boat position, this morning we were the first boat to arrive before no one else there. apart about 15 minutes, the second strikes happened, this one big, about 11 kilos of ruby snapper has been successfully landed. after the short trolling break, that the arm about to numb :D we start jigging again, this one at the same average depth - 100 meters on 500 grams jig.
