On sunday we fished the shallower waters around sandy hook bay with bucktails and teasers and put 10 fish in the box up to 3 lbs. We hade to give the engine a bump now every once in a while to produce a drift, but it was enough. On wednesday we had a decent amount of shorts but fought tough wind against tide conditions all day and only produced three keepers up to 3 1/2 lbs and an 8 lb blue on real light tackle. We found the fish in the last two hours of the trip and the season looks like its going to shape up really well with the right conditions.
