Today we participated in Take A Vet fishing we had Army Veteran Ken out today in hopes of big bass, The bass just weren't on the feed so we changed plans and started flounder fishing. Flounder fishing was surprisingly good we had 7 nice size flounder in the boat in less then 2 hours. Ken had a great time and went home happy. Ken is invited to fish with us anytime we have an open boat trip.
The Asbury Park Press asked us if they could film the event for their website and I'd like to thank Karen from the AP and Brian and JB from the Fisherman magazine for the Vet coverage it's a nice way to give a little something back to our boys. We will donate 3 more trips this season Capt Carmine is a Vietnam Veteran and believes in giving a little something back.
I'd also like to thank the following for their donations to the Vets making this trip a success. Penn (who was outstanding),Okuma,Bass Pro Shops,Zebco and also a BIG thanks to Laurie from Harris Custom Rods she delivered 4 top of the line custom made rods for the event she worked hard to complete these rods in time for us to use.
