What a sight it was today with well over 10-12 schools of black drum on our flats in less than 2 feet of water. Sometimes it's nice as a fishing guide to go out by yourself as I did this morning. Moving down to a flat that these drum have been known for throughout the summer months proves to hold these awesome fighting fish again - a Mosquito Lagoon black drum!

Tailing black drum lasted all morning with others just bunched up together as they were "best buds". Litteraly getting within 5 yards of the boat. Some moments they were so close to my boat I could have poked them with my rod tip! Everywhere I looked for the 4 hours I was on this area, it was a memorable day. If ESPN or any other outdoor show was with me on this day....and I don't care who was with me, would have had the best footage anyone could ever ask for.....one of those day's!

I moved from school to school throughout the morning with drum bumping my line as they pushed through.

This looks as almost a new beginning of an invasion of the blacks for years to come. They have always been on our flats certain times of the year.....but not like this year!

Book that trip for your shot at these awesome fighting fish that I expect to last for months to come.
