With a couple days off with no charters....what does a fishing guide do with time off????FISH!!!!

Had a couple friends in town over the weekend from Palm Beach looking to catch some redfish. Unlike the inshore waters of their area, I wanted to try my best to get them on a "Mosquito Lagoon Specialty"....a bull red. Well...we had a tough time getting reds in the slot the past few days, on charters and with my buds from down south, what a bad problem to have.....NOT!!!!

Our biggest in the past 3 days was this 45", 36 pounder that took us over an hour to boat on 10lb braided line with 15lb leader. This red had so much energy she did not want her picture taken and put up one great fight. We ended up with this lunker along with a few other nice fish including lots of trout on topwaters.

Fishing is really getting good, give me a shout for some awesome Lagoon action!

Bio: Growing up on the east coast of Florida I started fishing at a very early age mostly on the inshore waters of the Indian River Lagoon. Now with the experience of learning every corner of the back waters and fish behavior patterns, I am a full time fishing guide on the Mosquito Lagoon. Besides writing monthly fishing reports for my website, Coastal Angler Magazine, and various other organizations, I also enjoy working with and am on the pro staff for Rip Tide Lures, High Roller Lures, Berkley, Pure Fishing, Daiichi Hooks, and Costa Del Mar Sunglasses.
