Busy,Busy,Busy (2/02/2007)
[Miami,FL] So far this year has not been a disappointment as there are plenty of fish to catch. Sailfish are the species we are primarily catching and the fishing has been good.
Hot Sailfish Action (1/15/2007)
[Miami,FL] We caught at least one sailfish on every trip, but for the most part we have been averaging 5 or 6 a day.
Happy New Year From Double D Charters (1/01/2007)
[Miami,FL] I would like to wish everyone a Great New Year! I would also like to thank all my clients, both new and old for a great year of fishing.
Windy But Good (12/22/2006)
[Miami,FL] Windy weather has become the norm for the past few weeks. Even with the wind, I have been fishing almost everyday.
Double Digit Sailfish Releases (12/05/2006)
[Miami,FL] This is the time of year that I get fired up on fishing on the edge. The cold fronts are rolling through and with the fronts, come the fish.
November Fishing Action Out Of Keystone Point Marina (11/27/2006)
[Miami,FL] The past two weeks there have been sailfish, kingfish and dolphin. The new boat is performing flawlessly, and it is catching fish as well. The new Mercury Verados are actually a bit stronger and a bit more fuel efficient than last year’s model. Everything on the boat is working and we are ready for a good winter hopefully full of trips and fish.
New Boat - 34 Seavee With Twin Verado's (11/13/2006)
[Miami,FL] The new boat has arrived. I received my new 34ft SeaVee with twin Verado’s late last week. I had the bottom painted this week and did my first trip with it today. The new boat is absolutely great. It is similar to the last one with a few minor changes. The last boat was absolutely great and held up extremely well. This boat will surely do the same if not better. Everything on the boat is new including all the Furuno electronics and a new TR-1 autopilot. The motors are 2007 Mercury Verado 275 HP outboards. These motors are a bit stronger and a bit more fuel efficient than the previous year.
Day Time Action is Heating Up Off Miami (10/30/2006)
[Miami,FL] For the past two months I have been mostly swordfishing, and although we have been fishing a little bit in the day as well, the day time action in Miami does not really start to heat up until we have a few cold fronts. Well, we have had a few cold fronts and you can say the action has heated up quite a bit.
Swords on FIRE! (10/11/2006)
[Miami,FL] Swordfishing this past week and weekend was on fire. The wind blew from the NE at 15 – 20mph most of the week, but when it calmed down, the fish were out there waiting. There were two swordfish tournaments this past weekend.
Protect Our Fishery (10/01/2006)
[Miami,FL] The Florida Straits is a critical area and a nursery area for swordfish, and we must all due our part to protect this great fishery. This meeting though put some things in perspective.
Florida Swordfish Series Winners (9/16/2006)
[Miami,FL] Our luck has continued and we ended up winning the Florida Swordfish Series. This series is based on the total points from the Islamorada Swordfish Tournament and the Miami Swordfish Tournament.
Swordfish Tag Recovery (9/03/2006)
[Miami,FL] Now is primetime for swordfish. The thunderstorms of the summer should be passing and the cold fronts of winter are here yet, so give me a call and lets go catch em!
Win at the Islamorada Swordfish Tournament (8/14/2006)
[Miami,FL] This past weekend was the Islamorada Swordfish Tournament. This swordfish tournament is not like most of the swordfish tournaments where biggest fish wins, but is more like a BBC where releases count as well as weighed fish.
Swords ON! (8/05/2006)
[Miami,FL] Fishing both day and night has been good. Catch kingfish, dolphin bonitas and a few sails during the day. At night go after the mighty swordfish.
Variety Of Fishing Biting Off Miami (7/24/2006)
[Miami,FL] Since my last report, I was on vacation for a week, back to the Bahamas a few times, and fished Miami for a few days. Also since my last report, it seems we have been inundated with lots of rain. Along with the rain come thunderstorms and lightning which unfortunately has cancelled a lot of our swordfish trips.
Tuna and Dolphin In The Bahamas (6/26/2006)
[Miami,FL] My long trip from the Bahamas is over. We had a great time and caught lots of fish with some of my best customers. I spent a little less than two and a half weeks in the Bahamas and targeted yellowfin tuna, big dolphin, trolled for blue marlin and also did a little bit of bottom fishing. For the tunas, we caught plenty of yellowfins from 30 to 70 pounds and a few blackfins.
Fort Lauderdale Billfish Tournament (2/13/2006)
[Miami,FL] The sailfishing continues to be very good. There have been a few days where we have struggled to catch 2 or 3 sails per day, but for the most part we are catching 3 to 6 a day.
Miami Swordfishing Report (7/31/2005)
[Miami,FL] We had some good nights since then averaging anywhere from 1 to 3 fish a night, with our largest at 100 pounds. We did have a night we caught 4 fish (all small and released) and we also had a night were we only had one bite that we managed to miss.
