Trolling For Big Fish (7/08/2007)

The U- RIG is Great Right Now.. (6/14/2007)
[Lake Allatoona,GA] . The river channel is the key. These fish are holding on all main lake points and humps that are close to the river channel. I caught a LOT of fish this week trolling Mack Farr u-rigs over points and humps.

Lake Allatoona Top Water Bite (5/31/2007)
[Lake Allatoona,GA] The stripers and Hybrid are scatter all over the lake right now. I have caught fish this week as far south as Tanyard Creek and as far north as Kellogg Creek. The best bite for me this week as been on down lines right off main lake points. Last week we really started to see these fish bunching up on the main lake points. If you can find the right point you can load the boat.

[Lake Allatoona,GA] Line sides fishing is good and the mid lake is producing the best right now by far. But there is starting to be good afternoon bite at the dam on live bait and umbrella rigs. Down lines and free lines working better then any thing else on the lake right now But there is a lot of schooling fish in the morning and popping corks with Jr. flukes are by far the best top water bait there is for these fish.

But only be about 30% of the fish will be up there. So with that being said, I decided to stay south of midlake, and I've been doing very well.

Lake Carters Stripers Are Biting (4/14/2007)
[Carters Lake,GA] The stripers are starting to come back down out of the river. And are feeding on top. The best action is early in the morning and lake in the afternoon. These fish will eat a red fin better then anything. When they are schooling on top. Mid day try using shad on down lines on the main lake humps.

Lake Allatoona River Run Is On (4/12/2007)
[Lake Allatoona,GA] Crappie are everywhere in the creeks down lake. Fish in any of the shallows in the backs of the creeks. Troll or drift the backs of creeks and use minnows and bright Hal Flies. Bridges are holding pre spawn fish and at depths of less than 5 feet. Work tree lines, standing timber or brush and stump rows

Fishing is Great on Lake Allatoona (4/05/2007)
[Lake Allatoona,GA] There are fish schooling all over the lake right now.. The top water bite is the best I have seen in years. Stripes, Hybrids and spots are busting all over the lake right now. The south end of the lake is the place to be for numbers. But if you want a big fish you would be better off fishing mid-lake to the northend. Numbers can also be found mid-lake as well.

Big Fish By Free Lining Big Baits In Early Morning (1/25/2007)
[Lake Allatoona,GA] You can catch a big fish free lining big baits early in the morning. And the main points around the dam has been best for big fish. You want get a lot of bites but most will come from big fish. Trollers should be pulling Mack Farr umbrella rigs in the river channels during mid day. In the morning try pulling your rigs in water less then 20 feet deep and this includes shallow humps out in open water.

Clear Water On Lake Allatoona Is The Ticket (1/18/2007)
[Lake Allatoona,GA] Line sides fishing is good and not much has change from last week. The lake is stain from one end to the other. Finding clear water is the ticket. Free lines and planner boards in the morning and late afternoon and then down lines in the middle of the day. As the water starts to clear fishing should get better.

[Lake Allatoona,GA] Good. For stripers, big baits fished on planer boards have been producing some good-sized stripers and good numbers, . "I’m using big gizzards or big trout, and I’m back in the creeks and in the rivers. Little River, the mouth of the Etowah in the Delta have been producing best for me.
