The mullet are invading! The fall run is kicking into gear with mullet flowing all throughout our area. This means one thing.....predators in hot persuit.

Redfish are scattered with the high water so focusing on singled up fish or groups of 2-4 will get you action. Soft plastics rigged weedless have worked well this week in darker colors.

The black drum continue to be a target on the flats with most going 5-10 pounds, perfect size! Dead or live shrimp, cut clams, or chunk blue crabs all work well. But finding them is key, so I suggest hooking up with a local guide that knows where they are. These fish put on quite a fight, possible even better than redfish. We've been catching them almost every trip, including today going 5 for 8. (boated 5, lost 3) They are much less spooky than our resident reds allowing you to get litteraly within 10 feet of the schools.

Jacks are also chewing, very fun to hook up with on light tackle. All around the mullet pods it's like chaos at daybreak!

Give me a shout for some flats action on the Mosquito or Indian River Lagoons!! (386)478-9555
