Right conditions wrong moon! The tide and wind were perfect for Flounder gigging the morning of the 31st but the Flounder just weren't laid up good. The full moon is not my favorite but because everything else was right I had to try.

Lots of pushing the boat around and not many Flounder to stick. I did see some areas that had a lot of fresh tracks it just wasn't the time they had been there. It was nice to get out again because the wind had the gigging messed up the last few times the tide was right.

Although we did manage to stick a few fish. There were also quite a few Sheepshead but no luck getting one of them in the boat.

A little cold front is moving in today so that should help the Flounder bunch up some. One thing that is starting to happen is the Trout are showing up in good numbers in the North ICW. That means a few months of throwing plastics and just wearing them out.

There are still plenty of small to 8 pound Reds in the creeks and they are feeding. I located quite a few schools when I was gigging yesterday morning.

Look for the Croaker and the big Bull Reds to continue to do well in the river.

Bio: Being a native of Northeast Florida I have enjoyed the excellent fishing and wildlife this area has to offer. I have been fishing the Jacksonville Florida area over 30 years with many a memorable fishing trip starting when I was a kid. We are in between and only minutes away from Amelia Island and St. Augustine, we can enjoy the fishing any direction. From downtown to the mouth of the ocean and all the back water in between.
