Fishing report for Ft. Myers beach and Estero Bay

This will be my first entry for my new digs at Fish Tale Marina on south Ft. Myers beach, this area is sort of a condensed version of Pine Island Sound. It has all the same elements, passes, oysterbars, mangrove shore lines and plenty of docks where fish can hide. All within close proximity to Big Carlos pass.

There is plenty of bait on the beaches and we are setting ourselfs up for the fall feast in which every fish in the area fattens up before cooler weather arrives.

There are plenty of nice seatrout on the grass flats on high water and in and around channels and potholes on the low, I have caught them on everything from top water plugs to softbaits to shinners either free lined or under popping corks.

Snook are making there way back in from the beaches and have been more numerous around oysterbars and docks, live shinners are the best bet.

Reds are schooling up, there were several breezy days this week that made site fishing them difficult but they are there, my favorite to find them are top water plugs but if you can get them to settle in cut ladyfish is the ticket.

Tarpon are becoming more and more frequent, they are on the beaches and around the passes, we should get a short period of good fishing for those of you that are lucky enough to take advantage of it.
