I've been remiss in my fishing report. It only went out to a handful of sites last week because of time constraints, and it's late this week, and probably won't go out to very many places- because of time constraints! I wish some of this time was generating income.

Monday last Larry McGlashan (Mr. Woodies Rattlers himself) and his friend Doug joined me for the Mitzi's maiden voyage, which was on the Mosquito Lagoon. It was forecast to be cold and windy. We were a day after the full moon. I told Larry before we left that it would be a tough day. It was- we were in fish most of the day and did not get a bite. Of course I thought it must be Larry and Doug and tried to get a fish myself, but I couldn't do it either. It must have been the fish! Another possible explanation is that we all suck, and that might be true, but I still think it was the fish. We saw well over 100. When you see that many and don't get a bite, it's the fish.

The boat performed flawlessly, though. I could not have been more pleased with the way it ran on a snotty day- smooth and dry. It floats shallow, and poles silently. I am going to like this boat.

Tuesday I drove to Sarasota and talked to the fly club there, Mangrove Coast Fly Fishers. It's a good group.

Wednesday I packed for the trip to New Jersey.

Thursday was a travel day.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until 1 PM I sat at the Fly Fishing Show and tied flies. Some of my fans came by (I still can't get used to the idea of having fans, but I must admit it is a nice feeling) and said hello. I gave a few people some tying instruction. I got this email from Tammy (yes, THAT Tammy- the Tamazon. If you have to ask you won't understand), "Looks like you made my friend's kid a fly tyer.

So it looks like someone else really got something out of my being there.

I wanted to go fishing today, but between unpacking, correspondence, book orders, and whatnot, I did not make it. Tomorrow is a fishing day, though, because…

Life is short- GO FISHING!!!

Life is great and I love my work!
