The Flounder seem to be in. Not a lot of big fish yet but there are a few nice ones around. Most of the spring Flounder are in the 2 to 3 pound range. On my first gigging charter of the year a few weeks ago we stuck 10 Flounder and a small Sheepshead. We saw a lot more fish just to small.
We didn't have any big ones but a mess of 14 to 17 inch flounder. As the year rolls on and the fall gets close the size will pick up. I can only hope to gig as many Flounder over 8 pounds like I did last year. Last fall was about the best as far as gigging big Flounder as I have ever had.
The nice Red fish are chewing good at the first of incoming in the creeks mostly on crabs. There is all the Rat Reds you want also just using a shrimp on a jig head.
We are catching quite a few flounder on hook and line also. The Lady fish and Jacks seemed to have moved in also. Some of the Lady fish in the 3 pound range are a blast to catch on the light tackle. They love to jump and pull a little string to.
