The end of the season Halibut bite stayed good and the weather cooperated from the end of August through the middle of September. Fewer of the charter operations were still fishing but the ones that are consistantly continue to bring in decent loads of Halibut with several big fish still showing up at the docks. Captain James and crew (son) Justin have broke the 100 pound range in 4 out of last 6 days with two fish weighing in at 224 and 272. The Ling Cod bite has been excellent also with fish being caught in the 40- 55 pound range. To top it all off the Silver Salmon (Coho Salmon) bite has picked up a great deal for its last hoorah for the year also. Boats are getting limits of 3 Silvers per person fairly easy for this late in the season. Too bad the season is tapering off until next May when it will all start back up again with the Halibut fishing. We will be ready for the action next May.
