Sal Mattino

Hello again from St.Lucie Sportfishing Charters. As the Labor Day holiday passes indicating the end of summer we find a few Amberjack still willing to take some live sardines. The current was moving along good at 7-8 knots.I used a 16 ounce lead egg sinker to get close to the bottom.Once on the bottom at 180 feet,I would turn a few cranks to lift off the bottom.A short time passed and a nice Amberjack inhaled a bait and the fight was on!

Tackle on this particular fish was a stout 40-80 Star rod with a Penn International 20.This set-up made short work on reeling in a Amberjack in the 15-20 pound range. The rest of the trip was filled with a few white tipped reef sharks. Not much else to report on this trip.Boat safe, fish hard! For now I am Capt.Sal from St.Lucie Sportfishing Charters.
