We've had several trips this week targeting Kingfish, Cobia, Bonita, and Blacktip Shark all on 15lb spinning tackle. Netting loads of bait has been the key to get the drag screeming. We're anchoring in front of certain parts of the reef and "live chumming" hundreds of whitebaits to get the fish fired up. Some anglers are throwing topwater plugs when the fish start busting the surface, and getting crushed. Three and four anglers hooked up at once was quite common last week with line screeming of the reels in every direction. Most of the Bonita are between 13-18lbs, the Kings are mostly schoolies between 6-8lbs. The light tackle, live bait fishing should continue to be great through June. Thanks for reading-Capt Brandon.
